Ever since I dumped my bike over in a mud hole I can not get it to start. Ive taken the carb out and took it apart and cleaned it. took all the jets out and made sure they were not stopped up, drained the tank put fresh gas in and changed and checked the spark plug. I'm at a loss. Getting ready to take it to the shop and let them deal with it. Any ides from the gurus here??? It's a 04 Honda 250X. I know it's getting gas thru the carb because the plug is wet. I've even drained the float bowl and still nothing.

Yes, it's getting a big blue spark!

Sounds like the motor is flooded big time or full of muddy water. Have you changed or checked the transmisson oil? Hopefully it is only flooded. Try holding the throttle wide open and crank it.

I would take the carb apart again and blow air through all orifices and jets again with cleaner. Make sure you have adjusted the idle and air screw correctly and seated all jets. Open float bowl drain and let fuel run through carb to insure flow. Air+Fuel+spark=combustion so if all are correct it should fire right up.

Did you get all the water or moisture out of the cylinder?

I took the carb apart three times and cleand it out with carb cleaner and commpressed air. I just dropped it off at Jerry's Triumph. We cranked it and he said it didnt sound good. Maybe a bent valve. He is going to check the commpression and go from there. So, we'll see what happens. Guess I better get my wallet out huh?

Check your compression.
If the bike was running, and sucked in a load of water through the intake, it can bend a valve, or bend a connecting rod, since water will not compress.

Had to get new piston and rings installed. He said the vavles look great. I should have it back soon. I know it's been awhile but it took him 3 weeks just to get a look at it. Anyway, be back in the saddle soon.
