It's only about six more weeks until this year's offering of the Wudi Winter Ride. This is the 11th year of the ride, so we are calling it Wudi11.
Date: February 27, 28, & March 1
This all started when John Brunsgaard ("jeb", still living in Minnesota) made a post on rec.motorcycles.dirt that went like this:
"I'VE BEEN SNOWED IN FOR SIX WEEKS!
I HAVE CABIN FEVER!
I NEED A RIDING FIX!"
Being the polite, sensitive, & politically correct fellow that I am, I answered his post thusly:
"Why don't you quit whining about it, load your stuff up, and come down here and ride with me."
Damned if he didn't take me up on it. Since then, things have kept going and growing, and everybody is invited to come join in on the fun.
We have had it many places, the last two years it has been at Brock Creek. By moving it to White Rock this year, we thought that the sheer volume and variety of the trails would offer the more novice riders more trails to ride, while still giving the expert level riders plenty of challenge, also.
Ride Specs:
Date: February 27, 28, & March 1
Location: White Rock Mountain (Mill Creek Trail). Razorback Riders property, just south of Combs, Arkansas
Cost: The Razorback Riders will charge a one time fee of $25 for access to the ride, to pay for the porta-potties and to help with their land payment.
Camping: Primitive, right at the site of the White Rock Mountain Enduro. (A few "electric and water equipped" RV sites will be available on a "first come first served" basis for a fee of $30 for the duration of the ride. There is a dump station on-site.)
The Razorback Riders have graciously offered several of their members to function as trail guides for us. jeb will be included in this group.
Generally, the riders will form up in small groups up to 10 people and be taking off and returning continuously during the daylight hours.
To gain more information, check out the web page that jeb set up for us. From there, you can email jeb and ask to be included on the mailing list.

While you are fiddling about, check out the forum that jeb also set up for us. (since my message board, "Talking Smack", is now dead and gone.)

Here is a copy of the latest Wudi11 email update:
Looks like we'll have plenty of guides. Even more club members volunteered their guiding services last night at the club meeting. Thanks guys! One gentleman even said he'd be willing to guide a more open, scenic kind of ride using his 4x4 Mule. So more of an ATV type deal. I told him I appreciated it, and would pass the word.
The tee-shirt person had problems getting shirts ready to preview, so I guess we'll just see what they come up with at the ride, I guess. Sorry to not have them to look at in advance.
We will have a person there selling concessions. There is NO expectation that Wudi riders will buy their food there, nor is there any minimum, etc. We told them they could setup if they liked kind of deal, and they said they'd be there. Sounds like they do all 3 meals, if you choose to use them.
Temps are suppose to be in the 60's from tomorrow as far as the forecast goes out, so we'll be down working trails again this weekend. So far, the ice storm damage through here does not seem too bad at all on the trails we worked last weekend. But I need to get around to more of the area this weekend to scope it out. Might be a few spots here and there that need more work.
Cycle Zone KTM has chipped in some door prizes, so we'll have some kind of give away during the weekend. Thanks CZ!

Time is flying by! Hope everyone is doing well, and anxious to come riding. The Spodelist is up to about 50, and you know we always have like double what is on the list. So should be a great turnout this year.
