That's a 3 cyl. 2-stroke. I bought one new in'76. It has a rubber mounted engine with NO vibration felt by the rider. Torquey, with out much top end past 7,000 rpm, while getting 45 to 50mpg. Absolutely reliable other than adjusting or changing the 3 sets of points about every 2500 miles. Mine was a bit unusual. It didn't smoke once you got past warm-up and the pipes would burn white after a few hundred miles on the interstate. At around 15,000 miles the lower two mufflers rusted out! I went to the dealer to order some new ones and he asked me if I had laid it down. When I told him they had rusted out he couldn't believe it. He said he had never heard of a 2-stroke muffler rusting out. I also told him I was getting a 1,000 miles out of the oil tank before I refilled it. He said I should be refilling it from 250 to 300 miles and that I was going to burn it up. I sold it with 24,000 miles on it, still running like a new one! By the way, the oil pump was adjusted according to the manual and I was using Castrol Grand Prix oil. The only reliability issue I ever heard about that model was that it needed the wrist pin bearings changed in the 20,000 to 25,000 mile range. (which I never changed) In fact I made my longest one day ride ever on this bike, over 550 miles in 10 hours.
