Good places to ride

Hello from Texas,

I am originally a native of Arkansas, born in Russellville, graduated HS in Fort Smith, and graduated College in Russellville.

I am wanting to come and and ride some of the native area. I am wanting to find some places where you can leave from your camp and ride. Not looking for MX stuff just some good singletrack. I have plans currently to ride Up at Mount Magazine (Huckleberry Mtn) and then go over to Moccassin Gap and finish up down at Wolf Pen Gap. I would like to know if there is anything better around the Paris, New Blaine, Dardanelle/Russellville area? Most of the stuff I listed has all been turned into double track.
Would like to be camping in RV and be able to use full hook ups if possible.

Any advice is good.

We really didn't want go that far. What about this area around New Blaine? I used to own some property around there on both sides of the HWY 22.

New Blaine

It realy is not that far from New Blaine to Brock Creek. New Blaine is a great place to ride. It is very scenic. We have been using the trails there to hold AMA Dual Sports and ISDT Reunion rides for years but like you have already observed there is not any legal single track there that I know of. If I drove all the way from Texas I know which place I would go. BOTH

I was trying to figure out

I was trying to figure out where the trails were located? We own some property on both sides of HWY 22 there in New Blaine. Are there any maps available? I was going to try and plan a ride down from Mount Magazine on the Huckleberry trail system to New Blaine and have a bite there at the Outpost on the south side of the road and refuel and then head back up the mountain. I didn't know if any of these trails got close to one another.

Special use permits

There are no maps of the trails we use on our organized events. We obtain special use permits for some of the trails that are not legal to ride on just any time you want. We do not allow GPS at our events becuase we do not want people coming back and riding on trails that they are not legal and ruining our relationship with the Forrest Service and risk the chance of us not being able to obtain the SUP so we can put on events for folks to ride in the future. If you ride there please stay on the trails that you find on the map links I provided for you.

Smart move on the GPS.

Smart move on the GPS. Unfortunately, our sport can attract some real goobers. I ride with four other guys, all of us corporate jockeys and we are hard asses about keeping our trails open, maintined and rideable. I am neither Democrat nor Republican so what I am about to say isn't politically motivated. I have been writing comgress for two years about the trail closing and I have not received one letter back, of the 20 or so that I have received, where the Congress person agreed with me on providing access to anyone other than their special interest tree huggers. Here's a tip - take the tact of our trails provide the handicapped the only way they can access the forests. You sound educated on the issue of use, so I thought I would suggest this. Thanks.
