Meeting Minutes of the Arkansas Dirt Riders

Bruce Yother brought the meeting to order at 7:05pm
There were 19 members and 1 guest in attendance

President’s Minute: Bruce discussed the Kirby area and described it as a “blast”.

VP’s minute: Lynn talked about the OHV organization that has been formed in Arkansas. Letter is being sent out about who does what.

Secretary’s Minute: A hard copy of minutes will be at all meeting for the future. They were not for this meeting

Treasurer’s Minute: Mr. Harmon was not in attendance. Some discussion was made about the possibility of having someone else to sign checks in the future.

Referee’s Minute: Tom is getting prepared for the AHSCS in getting the rule book from the website. No other comments.

McKay Hugentobler was the guest in attendance and was voted in for an active member. McKay rides a Honda CRF450X and has already attended several work activities.

Race/Ride/New Bike Reports: Lisa Yother has a new Kawasaki Bayou 250. The Poker Run in Russellville was a slick and slimey event that was ridden by the AHRMA guys. They had about 50 riders. WDUI ride is coming up. Steve and Brian Pierce attended the Amarillo, TX enduro. They are now in with the big boys. Jim Cook finished 2nd place in a Florida AHRMA event. The Vintage Trail Ride will be at New Blaine March 29/20. (rescheduled for the Ross Property the same weekend)

Hare Scramble Report: Kirby Landing March 16, 2008. Certificate of Insurance sent to Corps of Engineers. Tom Franklin bringing the club trailer down. Saturday will be a work day to complete the start area, bannering, and the check the arrows. Meet at 10am at Kirby. Other logistics of the event discussed. Gate fees are $5.00 per person.

Enduro Report: Jim discussed the trails to be used. There was additional discussion f the event format, i.e. traditional or Natl. Enduro format. This is not a SERA or AMA event. Kids race discussed: to have or not to have. Trophies and T-shirts numbers were discussed. T-shirts are to be reduced numbers and no event shirts. There was a motion made and passed as to not have T-shirts this year. Entry fees are $32 pre-entry and $37 post entry.

Other New Business: Club Awards were discussed for ADR members. A committee was formed for putting together recommendations for awards. There are criteria in place currently for awards. Steve Pierce, Jim Holub, Lisa Yother, and Kerry Synder are the committee members.

The Trail Rider Magazine has an article about the Reunion Ride of last year written by Jeff DeBell.
