Does anyone have an old carb laying around they want to part out? Looks like the needle keeper on mine has a stripped off hex head, so I can't get the needle out.

. . . just how in the heck did that come about? Set it and forget it. Man can make a trophy out of an old sprocket, but can't get a little hex head out of a carb???

well....I actually didn't do it...I don't want to blame it on the previous owner (RT), but...... :)

I'm afraid I'm going to break it and subsequent attempts to get it out, so I was checking for spare parts now, before I order that $45 piece from KTM. :(

:) aaahhh, another words pasing the buck. Poor ole RT, trying to get a good bike to you and this is how you repay him.
Never heard of one of those parts sticking like that though. Really amazing how these upperend bikes have some really unusal things go wrong with them!!! My GasGas and subsequent '01 KTM had some strange things go amiss. I've been riding since I was a junior in college and even rode Huskies for a few years and no real ringers like these bikes can do????
Good luck with your issue though.

You can carb parts from Sudco. I've always had good service from them.

Yep! Or Carburetor Parts Warehouse.
Sudco:

There may be a minimum order, but it is not an expensive part.
I think i used to sell them for $8 or so.

You can buy an extra, or a special jet needle you've been wanting to try.
If you keep a bike a year or three, an extra choke assembly might come in handy.
You might also want to get some extra carb float bowl screws.

Hey Zac
I've had problems with the hex heads rounding on the needle retainer in the past as well. As a matter of fact I am almost sure I have replaced it on your bike. Its almost like they become welded to the slide and the aluminum head rounds when you attempt to loosen it.
In any case don't order one. I keep a spare on hand. Call me.

Ronnie, no worries I already ordered one. I wonder if I should put a little anti-seize on it?
