Hey guys, i've been riding on the street for a while and I have 2 boys 6 and 7 years old and would like to start riding in the dirt with them. They haven't ever ridden a dirt bike but both can ride bicycles. I've thought about taking the dirt riding class from MSF with them. I just happened to be at the same pizza joint at the time ya'll were having your meeting tuesday night and thought I would get on your website and check it out. I would like some info on some good used dirtbikes for me and my boys to possibly buy. I was also wondering if it would benefit me to see what ya'll were all about so I could find some good people and places to ride. Any info would be appreciated. My email address is firemanrn@sbcglobal.net. Thanx, Brady

Brady,
I started each of my kids riding at age 5.. My 2 girls kinda lost interest but ocasionally I see them riding around the yard on my sons bike.. They are 16 and 18 now... My son who is 13 still rides some, about 4 or 5 times a year we get some trail miles in, and he and I have had many great memories over the years.
I strongly encourage you to start them as early as possible. Auto clutch bikes make learning to ride much easier. Finding good, inexpensive, used ones around Christmas can be a challenge though. Dirt riding will also sharpen your street reflexes, so it is a positive for you too.
Bill

Bill,
Thanx for your reply. I will probably keep looking back at this site since it interests me. I'm hoping around spring being able to find a good deal on some bikes.

I'm up here in Gillette WY(about 150 miles from Sturgis). My renter has an 04 TTR90 and TTR225 that are BRAND NEW for $2800. They would be perfect for getting started for kids and adult. Wish I was closer. I will probably be passing through Mountain Home in March on my way to the Trial Training Center in Sequatchie Tennessee. Looks like a great place to ride and get some instruction.
