I wonder if it will surplant the 400 as their premier woods bike? The 400 is just a super scoot and comparing it to the Husaberg 380 will be fun over this next year - unitl the 350 hits the woods! Better start saving my coins now. . .
This months Dirt Bike magazine compares the KTM 400 to the Berg 390. Their results were solidly KTM.
After reading the piece in DR, I think I know what's going to replace my 450. Well, assumingly I can get the 8g's saved up. :D

Many of my friends in the industry believe it is the future of enduro and motocross/supercross. It allows most manufacturers to make one motor for all models instead of having to make a 250 and 450. It also means more money can be put into future development since its only one motor platform and in this global economy it will ensure off road moto continues to evolve. Right now many of the different racing series have already decided to combine 250 and 450 classes, for example arenacross and endurocross. I'm all for it since I never use my 450s power unless I'm on a jeep trail passing Morris. If KTM is the company to bring it to enduro I guess I'll be forced to ride orange and look like all the other robots.
Robots??? Obviously you have not ridden a 400! That scoot is the bike! All around scooter - tight woods, 80 to 90 mph in the open, and can even dual sport. AND how many do you see? Not that many. They all want to ride those 450's. Why does one think the XR350 Hondas lasted as long as they did? Cause it was a good all round scoot, but everyoe wanted the CR250 or the CR500 or XR600/650 - more power. Now those are robots - the guys that follow the crowd. Not the guys that really know how the scoot fits the venue. The KTM 400 is not a robot. But you know, it might very well become one. . . and what a great bike to do so.
Sorry you miss understood robot. Robot as in the color orange not as in the motor size. I couldn't agree more that the 400 is genius, heck i wish I didn't have close friends at Yamaha or I'd have one. If KTM makes a proper woods 350 I will may be forced to wear orange like everyone else.
